John Greenleigh is a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Before opening his own studio, he assisted photographers in Los Angeles and New York, including the renowned color photographer, Jay Maisel.
John Greenleigh Studios quickly became one of a select
group of studios working for the highly regarded Apple creative services team
led by designers Clement Mok (Studio Archetype/Sapient/WebObjects) and Tom Suiter,
founding partner of CKS/MarchFirst.
A pioneer in the field of interactive
photography, John's was one of the first studios to market this exciting new
content and was a founder and first co-president
of the Bay Area QTVR Association. He is an active member of the International
VR Photographers Association (IVRPA) and the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).
John has been featured in interviews and articles about digital and interactive
photography, including Communication Arts, DV Magazine, Photo Metro Magazine, and MacWorld. He has been included on panels, spoken and led seminars about the technology and business of
photographic virtual reality at such events as DVEXPO 2000, Apple Marketing
Seminars, and IVRPA's VR Summits.
John Greenleigh's photography awards include Print Magazine Regional
Design Annual and PhotoDesign Silver Award for Books. John's first photography
book, "The
Days of the Dead", depicts a moving look at Mexico's holiday celebrating
life and death, and is now in its fifth printing, having sold over 40,000
copies.
